TTEC requires a hardwired connection to your home router for its remote customer service roles, with at least 25 Mbps download. Wi-Fi is not accepted for most programs, and the initial systems assessment must be completed on a computer plugged directly into the router.
“High speed internet connection (>25mbps). A hardwired connection to your home router is required.”— TTEC job posting — Customer Service Representative, Remote in USA · source
TTEC's FAQ notes that some client assignments permit home Wi-Fi with WPA2 encryption, but the technical scan during onboarding requires your computer to be hardwired to the router. Plan for wired.
Check in 30 seconds. If a wired connection is available, we'll set it up with Ethernet at your desk before your start date.
Check My AddressA wired connection — fiber, cable, or DSL — with an Ethernet cable from your computer to the router. Fiber is the strongest fit for TTEC's requirements: upload speed matches download speed, latency stays low and consistent, and weather doesn't affect it.
If you're on satellite, a cellular hotspot, or 5G home internet, no speed test will get you past TTEC's rule — the connection type is what's being checked. The fix is a wired line, installed with the Ethernet connection in the room where you'll work.
